Moving over to the couch when Cara motioned for him to join her, Blaise sat down comfortably next to his girlfriend and let her rest her head against his shoulder. "I wouldn't have rushed, I just wouldn't have taken my time like I did," Blaise spoke. "Oh, trust me. I'm prepping for the worst. It may be an engagement party, but I promise that something is going to happen. Someone is going to get pissed, someone is going to get upset, Aspen is probably going to cry, and occasionally, there is some yelling. And I think that there may have even been a fist thrown in the past." Thinking back on to all of the other events the group had thrown, there never seemed to be a single dull moment amongst them all. "If your brother were to do anything tonight, it would just be another typical family event," Blaise spoke.
Looking to Cara as she continued on, Blaise's hand reached for hers. "You'll be fine. Trust me. These are my friends, not my mom," Blaise ensured. "My friends are much easier to get along with than my mother. Definitely more welcoming too," he spoke. Blaise's mother was an easy woman to get along with once she accepted you into her world, until then, she'd treat you like you didn't exist or like you were the help. Once she made you feel like you fit in, though, she'd spoil you rotten if you let her.
It wasn't long before Blaise and Cara apparated to the penthouse to meet everyone else at the party. Blaise didn't want to be late, because he wanted to see the look on Adrian's face when Lily accepted Marcus' proposal. Marcus was Adrian's wing man, just as Graham was his own, when the boys went out and once Lily said yes to Marcus, it would all be over. That was definitely something that Blaise wanted to see. Once Blaise and Cara had arrived, he heard Cara whoa at the sight of the house. "Eh, this is nothing. You've got to see where we all grew up. This is just a temporary in-between home for Marcus, Av, and Graham. Their permanent house when they get married and have kids is going to be at least four times the size of this; especially if Av has anything to do with it," he spoke, leading his girlfriend further inside towards the group. When they walked over to the group, Blaise introduced Cara to everyone, trying to avoid making eye contact with Cedric this early. Blaise wanted things to remain calm until at least Lily had said yes. Then Blaise would walk up to Cedric and explain that he was dating Cara and whatnot.
Looking to Marcus, Blaise spoke, "Congrats, man. This means you have to find a new wing man for Adrian now," he said with a smirk on his face.

After Adrian walked in and greeted everyone, it wasn't long before Marcus pulled him to the side and introduced him to a Miss Juliet Carson. This girl was definitely one of Lily's sisters and by the look of her, she looked like she could have been her twin. This girl was definitely hot and it seemed like the Carson women had very good genes apparently. And if Marcus wanted him to meet her, then this may have been the last thing he was going to do as his wing man before he asked his asked that title away.
When Marcus became preoccupied with his nephews, Adrian awkwardly looked up to Juliet. "Hey," he said, bringing a hand up to the back of his neck and rubbing it, not really knowing what he should do next. "I'm Adrian," he said, bringing his hand down for a moment to shake the girl's hand. "You're Lily's sister, right?" he asked, trying to break the ice with the female. Not knowing whether Juliet knew that Marcus was about to propose to her sister, Adrian decided that he wasn't going to say anything about the subject. Sometimes, it was better left unsaid than spoiled. "Did you want anything to drink?" he asked, trying to be a gentleman. If he did nothing else right, Adrian knew how to be a gentleman; that much his mother had drilled into him from the time that he had first started walking and talking and really being able to interact with people on his own when he was a young child.
When Cayden and Blaise both walked in, they both managed to get on his case about girls and losing his wing man, which Adrian was already a little upset about. But hey, what was he going to do? It was going to happen eventually. "Both of you need to shut up. I'll be just fine on my own," the male spat back at the pair of idiots that had started to get on his case already that night. "I'm going to tell Av on you and she's not going to be happy that you're picking on her favorite person in the world," Adrian said, pulling his adorableness card.

Having Marcus Flint introduce her into Adrian Pucey, she knew the name from school. Ad they had crossed paths maybe a few times in the past. But he was a quidditch Chaser for whatever quidditch team that Cayden happened to be apart of. "Nice to meet you Adrian. Yea I am her sister." she said with a nervous smile across her lips. She looked up to him hearing Adrian's next question. "Yes please," Nor did Juliet began to curse her sisters boyfriend. Adrian was a cute guy, he was fore sure a family man. And seeing him how he interacted with Cayden Wood, and Avalnche and she was aware of there romance because of the damn paparazzi and magazines that loved gossip. "So a you're a professional quidditch player?" she said as she leaned against a couch, looking to him. She began to play with the bottom strands of her hair. Maybe Marcus was trying to set Adrian and Juliet up. It would be a cute match.
Hearing Adrian stand up for himself, and hearing a few other words about Avalanche made her giggle at the entire situation. "You know if they didn't tease you some way they wouldn't care about you." she said the last sip from the champagne that she had grabbed earlier when she had first walked in. "Now you can explain to me why Marcus insisted that we meet," she said with a curious smile across her lips. It after all was genuine with every word but she wanted to know if Adrian had thought about it. She would be asking her sister about the entire situation the minute everything seemed to quiet down. Addison who looked really pregnant, and than a man walked in a few minutes behind her. As she was trying to explain in her own mind if it was Addison was related to Marcus or another one of the family members. "Or is he just being an ass?" she said curiously studying the man in front of her.
Taking the drink that Adrian had gotten her as she sipped it under her fresh manicured fingers. Maybe she would give Marcus the befenfit of the doubt. Lily did love him so there was something there wasn't their? But they had been off and on for well since Lily could remember. And she was so busy with her nose in a book she didn't have much romantic involvement as a teenager. There was somebody recently that had really stepped all over her heart. And dammit,Marcus knew this. This explained a lot. She tried to inhale deeply, and than exhaling deeply so she could try to stop her brain.

This entire snenerio it screamed very much a Marcus move. He had asked Avalanche and Genevieve to help out. It was all nice and all. But if Lilah couldn't see right through the smoke screen of the fact it was Graham and Genevieve's coming out party. Hearing Avalanche's next word, he shot her a look. "No it'll be Graham and Genevieve if anyone else." he said if it was to be anyone. Not that he didn't think much of a future with Ry, he wanted it. But Draven was terrified that it would be based on the boys. And he didn't want that, he wanted something more concrete. Sure he had a crush on Ry when he was a boy and she would come over on the summer holiday to hang out with Av, and Graham. Walking over to his sister, who he could obviously see was not feeling well. He could read it in her eyes, if anywhere else was appearing to be fine. Hearing his sister mention she would be going to St. Mungos, tomorrow. And than the next one made the young man roll his eyes. "Tomorrow before practice you go." He shot Cayden a look that he suggested he could go if she wanted. "Excuse me, since when did you become family?" he asked curiously, he stood his ground. He knew Av shoot him a dirty look, he could feel it already in his bones.
He had walked away form the situation he knew he was going to hear an ass chewing from his big sister. It wasn't about the fact he didn't care for Julian it was the fact he still hadn't forgot what Cayden had started with Avalanche to get back at Marcus. And how Adrian could respect him even bothered him, he always idolized them. And now that was something he saw that was quite the flaw. Going to one of the tables as he ingested a stiff drink. And he gulped the first one down, and than he quickly worked on a second one. He could start to feel his back began to loosen up. But if you poured booze on an already irrupted mind it just got worse. He could keep himself under wraps. After the party he wasn't to sure what would happen.
Draven had sat down on the floor with the boys just in time for Graham to come back out all new polished like a new penny. The boys had come into his direction, as he played with the dinosaurs toys that he brought for the boys. They had placed a blank down where he was sitting with the boys a bit a away from the group. "Izz, let Giovanni play with her cousins," he said with a bit of a grin up to his older cousin.

Keeping a close eye on her boys, Ryleigh also kept a close eye on her boyfriend, Draven. It seemed a little weird to call him that, especially since she was seven years his senior; although, in the long run, maybe it was meant to happen between them since the beginning. They had, after all, been friends because Avalanche and Ryleigh were close friends, so maybe it was a sign that something was supposed to happen between them in the long run and that having the boys was just the way to get them together. Not really caring why or how they had gotten together, all that Ryleigh knew was that she and Draven were together now and she wanted things to work out between them. Of course, she always wanted Draven around for the boys, but deep down, Ryleigh was really growing attached to the younger blond Malfoy son, even if she wasn't quite ready to admit it out loud with words just yet. Until then, she'd be adorable and lovey and hands on instead.
Seeing Draven tense up because of the entire situation between his sister and Cayden Wood, Ryleigh waited a few moments before she decided to step in and try and calm her boyfriend down. Ryleigh thought that Draven would be alright until Avalanche mentioned Julian. Hearing Julian's voice, Ryleigh knew that her boyfriend was going to be in for one hell of a night. Watching the blond male walk away from the group to grab himself a drink, Ryleigh followed close behind him. Grabbing a drink for herself, Ryleigh looked to Draven. "Come on, relax a little, babe," she started, putting her hand on Draven's arm. "It's supposed to be a night of celebration. I know you don't like Cayden or Julian, but let's try to have a good night," Ryleigh spoke. "If you feel yourself getting angry, come kiss me and I'll make you feel better," she said, trying her best to cheer Draven up. Even if she only helped a little bit, Ryleigh didn't care; the female just wanted to make sure that her boyfriend wasn't going to be in a bad mood all evening when he should have been having fun instead.

Julian didn't understand of going through outfit after outfit to find the perfect one to wear to a family event. It was after all family, they had probably and most definitely seen each other at their worst. But this was a party after all. His shirt was a simple gray shirt, and his pants were dark. It was simple. He didn't have to dress up for anyone, and he knew that the fact that everyone that would be anyone in the family that belonged to Aspen. Even the associates his father would have had, if he was still alive. It was rather a hard battle to stay away from associates that have in the past been involved with the Death Eaters that now here he was in love with a Malfoy's daughter. And he remembered some of his stories from his father that would mention Lucius, though now as an adult he took most of his fathers stories with a few grains of salt. And didn't believe many now that he had gotten to know Lucius on a work associations, and plus he ha been to the Malfoy Manor on Sunday's for family dinner. And even discuss a few things with Cayden when Avalanche would be on his arm.
He had of course spoke to Draco, and Draven only a handful of times in private. He had tried to reconnect with both of them as of recently, he wanted to make sure that he was a different guy than Victor Krum. And if Julian had ever seen him on the streets he would publicity humiliate him with silent spells in his general direction. But her voice broke his consecration and thoughts. "I don't see why you have to dress up. You look amazing no matter what you wear." Julian spoke as he smiled to Aspen keeping his arms firmly wrapped around her as he kissed the top of her head. Standing there with her in his arms. "Are you ready to go?" he said admired she looked beautiful in his grasp.
Exhaling deeply as with a faint pop he was in froth of the penthouse with Aspen maybe half a second behind him. He held her hand in his as he brought it up to his lips as he kissed the top of her hand. "Let's have fun no matter what happens?" Julian promised her with a smile across his face.

Looking to her boyfriend, Aspen Malfoy couldn't help but smile. Julian always seemed to know what to say to put a huge smile on her face. Kissing his cheek softly after he said what he needed to, the female looked into her boyfriend's eyes and spoke. "It's a family event, Julian. I always have to look my very best," she said. "And besides, if I don't dress up, then everyone in my family is going to think that there's something wrong with me, since I'm the dress-up queen," she spoke. "Ever since I was able to raid my mother's closet, I've been playing dress up. And as I got older, all I did was look into fashion and always wanted to look my very best. And with my cousin, Izzy, having her own fashion line, it helps because she's got a nose for expensive taste as well," Aspen informed him. "And anyways, don't you want the girl on your arm to try and look her very best on any occasion?" she questioned with an adorable smile plastered on her face. "But, yes, I am ready to go," the female spoke, linking hands with her boyfriend.
When the pair had arrived and were standing face-to-face with the door to the penthouse, Aspen looked over at Julian when he broke the momentary silence. When he finished speaking, the blonde replied back. "We will have fun, I promise. And if Draven starts to get on your case, please tell me. I'm not going to let him get away with it. He is my little brother and I love him, but if he can't see that you make me feel like the most amazing girl in the world, I need to correct him. He can't hate you forever, I won't allow it," the female spoke. Normally, Aspen would let things slide, especially if her brothers or sister didn't like whom she was dating as they had done in the past, but Julian was a very different man from her past boyfriends and, of course, Viktor. In fact, Aspen could see herself settling down with Julian, possibly even adopting children with him and making them their own and living happily together forever. And even though is sounded like a storybook romance, Aspen really did view Julian as her Prince Charming, despite the small fact that she was still afraid of saying those three little words to him.

After she had excused herself from the small group of people that had arrived at the penthouse, Delilah went to the bedroom that she and Marcus shared when they weren't fighting and laid down on the bed for a few minutes. In those few minutes, the poor girl debated on how and when she was going to tell her boyfriend that she was pregnant. Should she have waited until after the party to tell him so that Graham and Genevieve had their moment of glory all to themselves or should she have called him into their room right then and tell him flat out? It was a highly confusing situation for the girl and she just cried. Lily and Marcus had never really discussed having a family, because everything was always all about them; after all, they were still only dating, not engaged nor married or anything, so why should they have really discussed it? The worst part about finding out that she was pregnant was that she hadn't even known that she had even gotten pregnant. Her monthly cycles continued and she didn't have a belly bump of any sorts. Sure, she had gained a few pounds, but she blamed that on being stressed out with work. It wasn't until a routine blood work check at work had happened when a virus had been spreading throughout the hospital that she was diagnosed with a tiny child in her stomach. Oh boy, Marcus was going to be shocked with this news.
Getting up and off of the bed slowly, Delilah took off her clothes and stood in front of the floor length mirror and looked at the baby bump that she had blamed on stress. It wasn't all that big at all, a lot smaller than it should have been at almost five months along, but it was most certainly there. Tonight, she would have to cover it up with a dress that wouldn't focus on her curves and she'd have to refrain from touching it. Pretty much from the time that she had been told that she was pregnant that afternoon at work, until she had gotten home, then when she entered the bedroom alone, her hand had barely moved from her stomach. She was housing a small and dainty child in there and Lily honestly wasn't sure if she should be thrilled, frightened, or scared as hell about it all. Trying to get her mind off of it all, the female looked away from the mirror and walked into the bathroom and showered quickly. Once out of the shower, Delilah wrapped a towel around her body, quickly did up her hair and make-up and then got dressed. Trying to find the right pair of shoes, Lily tried to find a pair that she could sort of woo her boyfriend with along with her choice of dress for the evening. Maybe slightly seducing him after the guests had left would be an easier way of bringing up the subject of a family.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Delilah slipped her feet into her shoes and then exited the bedroom. Walking into the living room, the female noticed quite a few more people that had arrived. Walking over to Marcus, Delilah rested her head on his shoulder as she linked her hand with his. She wanted to mask how she was feeling, but she honestly didn't know how all she was going to do that. All she had to do was make sure that Marcus didn't put his hand on her stomach. Because she had gained a few pounds around her stomach, she had been wearing less revealing clothing and didn't really want Marcus touching her, because she didn't feel as pretty. Lily knew that if he touched her stomach, he'd figure out why she was acting a little off and she wasn't sure if he'd think that she had been keeping being pregnant from him. That was something that the female needed him to let her explain without so many people around. She just needed to keep to herself that evening and keep the focus on Graham and Genevieve.
Post by MARCUS NICHOLAS FLINT on Aug 31, 2013 13:28:42 GMT -5
Marcus Flint, had been people watching for quite some time since Isabella the Queen Bee of Queen Bees had denied him of whiskey, and liquor. And he had only had about two in a little bit of time just enough to get the edge off. Watching everyone become cozy with each other, he smiled. Heard congratulations from everyone; it was Lilah's idea to have Adrian meet Juliet. That they had high hopes for that pair; after all he knew Adrian would think the woman was just gorgeous, she was. But he had his own sights on Lilah, and it had been that way since he could remember. She was always there, being snuck into the Slytherin common room to polish off a bottle of whiskey he had stolen from the Flint liquor cabinet before the first of term. It was always something that involved her, and than when things turned physical he could remember every scent, every move.
How he was so nervous, and how many people assumed they were already physical before it actually happened. He had spotted Addison and Callen. Callen right now probably wasn't his favorite person after all the idiot had knocked up his beloved baby sister. And he had more ties to the Death Eaters now than most of the occupants in this penthouse. Which didn't bother Marcus all that much because the fact he could ask his father on some dirt or destroy the boy if anything went awry. When Graham changed, and came back out with jewelry for the ladies, he had been so focused on Draven and Cayden. He didn't want to break up a fight but he would damn well have too if he needed too. He knew Draven was a lot like his big sister with a feisty temper, and had a hard time to control it.
When he saw Blaise, and his newest fling he grinned. "B, What the hell took you so long?" He said shaking his hand, and Adrian talking to Juliet. Lil's evil plan was working. Looking around all the occupants of the party, nearly everyone was here. He swore he would curse Draco later for not hurrying his ass up. Because he wanted to ask Lila, now and get everything out of way. And let a night of celebration. When Lily had emerged from the room, dressed pretty as ever. Marcus had noticed she wouldn't allow her to really touch her sides, or her stomach. He just guessed she was self conscious about gaining weight. There was something that he had asked Avalanche to try to get her to the gym so she wouldn't be so bothered by it. He kissed the top of her head before Marcus took a step back.
Clearing his throat, he noticed instantly the room went silent. "Before everyone puts down a few more drinks," Marcus started, as his bounced from person to person in the party. "And most of you are aware Delilah, and I have been together since were in school," Marcus continued, and his eyes on Lilah now. "With being awarded the captain position. And to accomplish that goal I have really given the thought of the rest of my life, and my future. " As he began to kneel down in front of Delilah, removing the ring from his grasp. He knew Graham would have the camera for these moments, he had instructed him to do so. "So Delilah Johannah Carson would you give me the honor of marrying me?" he asked. He could hear his heart beating in his ears, he had practiced this for nearly two weeks in his own head in front of the mirror. It had come out a little different but none the less still with the same meanings. --- word count::642 tag:: engament party goers notes:: ring attire:: here
