Quidditch season was starting soon and Aspen couldn't wait for it to begin. She had gone from being a cheerleader for the Puddlemere team the last season to the head of the quidditch department this season. To show that she was grateful of her new job and to make a few new friends at the Ministry, Aspen had gotten the clearance from the Minister of Magic himself, for a ball type of event. It was going to be extremely formal; this is Aspen that we're talking about after all. She never went too over the top, but when Aspen held a formal event, you knew better than to show up in a polo and jeans. Unless, of course, it had, been your mission to piss the girl off. Although, if you had shown up looking like that, Aspen would have pulled you to the side and forced you into new clothes that she deemed acceptable for the event. Though, for this event, Aspen wasn't taking any chances; she sent out the invitations, along with an appropriate attire guide and along with that, Aspen encouraged anyone who couldn't meet the attire requirements to go to her office and she would be able to figure out something for said persons.
Having a few last minutes things to do before she was able to go home to change into her dress, Aspen enjoyed looking around the large room and seeing how well all of her hard work had paid off. Tonight was going to be a wonderful evening, even if she was forced to invite her former husband, Viktor Krum. Aspen sighed deeply when she thought of him. He may have been a total jerk to her at the end of their relationship, but for the rest of it, he had been so incredibly wonderful to her. She was treated like nothing less than a queen when she was with him. He had always made sure that she was taken care of, her needs were met, and she was always happy. She couldn't have asked for anything more than that. What girl could? Slipping into the room that she had charmed to only allow herself and the workers she had employed to help set up the dining room, Aspen looked around at it all. She definitely had something to be proud of. Tonight was going to be a wonderful night, though, she was going to keep interactions with Viktor to a minimal tonight. Aspen had a slight feeling though, that a handful of people were going to want to see the couple in a few pictures together tonight, so she was going to have to bite her tongue and just roll with the punches.
Taking one last look around the dining room, before walking over to the dance floor section of the hall, Aspen sighed with happiness. Her hard work and dedication always paid off nicely it seemed; tonight would be no different. And now that she was throwing her first event since her divorce and hiding in her room for months, she would soon start getting a bunch of invites to events around the world like she had been getting before. The thought of those invites sent shivers down Aspen's spine. She was starting to realize that she was finally getting over the awful heartbreak that she had been inclined to experience. Aspen must have zoned out for a moment or two, because she soon had one of the waiters walk up to her to taste-test some of the food that would be served that evening. Eating a few of the morsels, Aspen approved. She thanked the male for letting her sample some of the food that would be served, then turned to leave. Aspen looked at the clock and realized that she had just enough time to get home to change, do her make-up, style her hair, then show herself off to her parents, just before all three of them had left to attend the event.
Once she had apparated back home, Aspen showered quickly, then found the dress that she had picked out especially for this event. She pulled it from her closet, grabbed the proper shoes for the outfit, then laid the dress on her bed, her shoes next to it. As soon as she had laid her outfit out, Aspen sat down at her make-up table, grabbed her eyeliner, then started to draw on her eyelids. She put little wings, as people liked to call it, on both sides of her eyes, leaving her eyes looking wonderful and very appealing. This look, added to the hair style and outfit that would accompany it, allowed Aspen to realize just how much she was going to look amazing that evening. This was going to be her first held event since her divorce and public humiliation, so she new that she had to look better than amazing. With her make-up perfected, Aspen began on her hair. This took a bit more time than her make-up did, of course, but the pretty young blonde female knew that it was all going to be completely worth it. There was nothing that Aspen could want any more right now than to enter the hall she was throwing the party in and for everyone to just stop and look at her. She wanted people to become speechless while holding their glasses of champagne; she wanted then to remember the older version of herself, prior to her heartbreak. Aspen was working on being that girl again and so far, she was doing a damn good job at it.
Putting the last of the pins in her hair to hold it altogether, Aspen finished it off with a ton of hairspray. There would be nothing worse than her hair to mess itself up while she was mingling or dancing with a partner. As soon as her hair was deemed complete in her mind, Aspen went over to her bed and stripped herself of her robe and then stepped into her formal black dress. Once in it, she called her mother in to help her zip it up. Her mother seemed speechless; just was this Malfoy daughter wanted. Once in her dress, Aspen slipped her heels on and then walked down the hallway towards the staircase. She walked down the entire length of it, meeting her father at the bottom. "You look just like your mother," Lucius Malfoy said to his younger daughter. "Thank you, Daddy," Aspen said to him kindly. Placing her hand in the crook of his arm, Aspen waited for her mother to link to her father on his other side. Once she had, the three very blonde Malfoy family members were apparated to the Ministry, by none other than the patriarch himself. Once at the Ministry, Aspen was told that there was something waiting in her office that pertained to this evening, so the girl excused herself to make the trip upstairs to her office.
Taking the elevator up to her office, Aspen held on tightly. The last thing that she needed right now was to lose her balance and ruin her outfit before she could even debut it. Once the elevator had stopped on the floor she was looking for, Aspen stepped out, then walked to her office. With her heels clicking on the polished floor, the blonde girl couldn't have been happier with herself about the night that was about to start. Making it to her office, Aspen stepped inside, but was startled when she saw that someone was in there already. Aspen snapped her fingers which turned the lights on in her office. "Viktor," she said, her voice trailing off slightly. "I should have guessed that it was you," she said, snapping her fingers. The lights were dimmed slightly, then flicked off. Turning on her heels, Aspen stepped out of her office. She held her dress up slightly so that she could lightly run towards the elevator. She didn't want to be anywhere near Viktor. She knew it would bring nothing but tears and tonight, Aspen didn't want anything ruining her make-up. Viktor included.
