The cold brisk air hit Joslyn's face like a brick wall but she was bundled up nicely in a nice black overcoat and bright purple scarf made of cotton wrapped around her neck. On her right arm was her purse and her youngest nephew Carson. He was a year and a half old and didn't like walking when it was so cold. On her right side, walking alongside her was her youngest niece, Shanessa. At only four years old, Shanessa knew to walk with her auntie and not stray off. Walking along Joslyn's left side was her oldest niece Brietta. All three were her sister, Narie's kids but almost every week Joslyn would take them shopping.
Narie and her husband Javon always warned Joslyn not to spoil them too much but seeing as how Joslyn didn't have any children of her own, she had the money to spoil her nieces and nephew every once in a while. Today was a special day for shopping because they were going to HoneyDukes, the most famous candy shop in all of the magical world. Joslyn used to spend almost of her trips from school there just marveling at the amount of candy and sweets. It was going to be the next generation of her family to enjoy it today.
"Auntie Joss, are we almost there?" Brietta asked looking up at her aunt. "Yes Bri we are. Look girls!" she said and pointed to a few hundred feet in front of them where the sign for HoneyDukes hung swingly lightly in the fall breeze above the candy shop. "Can we run there auntie?" Shanessa asked and tugged on the hem of Joslyn's coat lightly. "Just be careful Nessa. You too Bri," she said as she watched the two young girls hold hands and skip over to the door. She smiled, wondering when she would be able to have kids of her own.
As they all walked in, Joslyn put Carson down and held his hand. "Now girls, you may look at everything but please come ask me if you want something okay?" she said, taking Carson's big coat off as well as the girls' coats, hanging them on the rack that was near the door. The two girls nodded enthusiastically and said "Yes auntie!" in harmony. Joslyn walked with Carson through the store, pointing things out to him and saying the words of what they were so that Carson could repeat them back. All the while, Joslyn kept and ear and eye out on her six and four year old nieces.
After circling the front half of the store with Carson, Joslyn and the young boy walked through the opening into the back half of the store. Here were the even bigger lollipops and other assorted candies, blown up to sizes that seemed unreal. Just as they stepped over the threshold, Joslyn heard Brietta yell. "No! It's mine! I want it!" and then soon after, Shanessa. "It's too pretty to be yours!" Joslyn hurriedly scurried Carson along and found the two of them each holding an end to a large taffy covered in bright colors. "Girls!" The sudden voice made Shanessa drop her end of the taffy quickly, causing Brietta to go off balance and swing the taffy. Before Joslyn could get to her, the taffy knocked into the counter with glass jars and began knocking them down one by one.
The loud crashing of broken glass drew in the crowd into the back room. Joslyn took Shanessa by the hand and grabbed Brietta as well. She stood them against the wall next to the place where the glasses had fallen and squatted down to be at eye level with them. "What did I tell you girls," she said in a stern voice as Carson came over and put his hands on Joslyn's knee. As soon as Joslyn spoke, both girls started crying. "We're sorry Auntie!" "We won't do it again!" Joslyn shook her head. "No you won't. Because until you can prove to me that you're going to behave, you have to walk with Carson and I. You are not to go off on your own until I say so. Is that clear?" she told them sternly. She hated being so tough on them but she knew that they knew better.
The girls nodded and Joslyn stood up, picking up a grunting Carson who had put his arms up to Joslyn. "You don't like walking do you?" she said in a baby voice to him which made him giggle. "We need to go find the owner," Joslyn told the girls as she attempted to make her way back through the immense crowd of people who had gathered to watch the fiasco.

Post by BLAISE MARKUS ZABINI on Feb 17, 2012 9:05:21 GMT -5
Sitting around the apartment that he shared with Addison, Blaise was enjoying his day off. They were far and few between, so when they made their way into his schedule, he couldn't be any happier. It didn't last for very long though. While Blaise was laying on the couch, he soon found himself falling asleep. It wasn't long before the male was rudely awoken by the door of his apartment being swung open with a little force.
Opening his eyes, Blaise was expecting to see his roommate and best friend, Addison Flint. Instead, he was shocked when he saw his two sisters and youngest brother walking in. "What the hell, Andrea!" Blaise said, sitting up on the couch. "It's called knocking. You should try it some time." Standing up, Blaise looked to his baby brother, "What's up, little man?" he said, high-fiving Andre, still looking to his sister. "Mom needs you to watch them all. I have to work and she's got something to do," Andrea spoke. "Fine, whatever," Blaise said. "Hey, don't give me any of your lip. It's uncalled for." Shooting an angry glare at his sister, Blaise shook his head. "No, Andrea. What's uncalled for is you bursting into my apartment unannounced, making demands. I don't do that in your house. It's called respect. Find some," he said. One thing about Blaise was that he was respectful. His mother taught him that, but it seemed like his older sister didn't get those lessons when they were younger. As much as Blaise loved his sister, she always seemed to think that she was able to do anything that she pleased.
Giving up on trying to figure out the workings of his older sister, Blaise looked at his younger sister, Bryah, who was home for the weekend. "How's school?" he asked her. Then Blaise looked at his sister, Andrea, and said, "You can leave now," just as he took his two-year-old nephew from her. Watching his older sister leave, Blaise listened to his sister Bryah's response to his question. "School is school. You remember, B," she said to him. After awhile, Blaise didn't feel like sitting around the apartment anymore, so when Addison came home, he asked if anyone wanted to go out for ice cream. Everyone did, so they all left for the ice cream parlour.
An hour or two later, Blaise found Addison to be getting tired, so he sent her home, Bryah in tow. The two seemed to get along pretty well. Andre seemed to like Addison too, since he opted to go with Addison and Bryah as well. Looking to his nephew, Blaise said, "Looks like it's just me and you, pal." Walking around Hogsmeade for awhile, Blaise had a few fans come up to him, asking for autographs and the like, so he didn't mind doing that. Though, he heard a few whispers that the boy he was holding, who Blaise knew was his nephew, being his son, Blaise couldn't help but laugh. There was definitely a resemblance, but only because his nephew looked a lot like his sister. Not wanting to hear anymore of the talk, Blaise entered the candy shop. Blaise had finished Addison's jelly beans, so he knew that he was going to have to replace them, which he didn't mind doing, so he figured that the best time to get the replacement beans was now.
When Blaise entered the shop, he and his nephew, Reece, started looking around the shelves, when there was a bit of a commotion somewhere in the store. He didn't know who the voices belonged to, but Blaise heard two very young females arguing with each other. Not really caring that there were two little girls arguing with each other, Blaise grabbed a bag of jelly beans for himself and a couple for Addison, then tried to make his way to the counter to pay for them.

Joslyn held onto each girl as Carson walked close in tow. As they finally squeezed their way through the crowd, Carson ran ahead of Joslyn. "Carson, no!" Joslyn told him but it was too late. The young toddler waddled his way right into some man's leg. Carson toppled over from losing balance and fell on his bum. Of course he would start crying. Could anything possibly get any worse on this day that was planned to be fun?
Joslyn let go of the girls and looked at them. "Stay with me," she said as she walked over to a crying Carson. She cooed and shushed him as she looked to the man Carson had bumped into. "I'm so sorry about that," she said to him, giving a half frown. The first thing Joslyn noticed was his eyes. They were a deep brown much like her own. She smiled shyly as Carson calmed down. Joslyn held the young boy against her and looked to the man. "Children, huh," she said, glancing down at the young boy by his side. Was it his child? Joslyn shouldn't judge since she was sure everyone thought that about her and her nieces and nephew.
Looking to the man once more, Joslyn recognized him. Blaise Zabini. The beater for the Falmouth Falcons. Joslyn felt herself blush for a moment but she couldn't say she wasn't having butterflies, that's for sure. She attempted to compose herself now that she had figured out who he was. The Miller family had always been into Quidditch and in particular, the Falcons. Joslyn had seen the drafts come and go for the team but she hadn't seen a good beater like Blaise in a long while. Now she was standing face to face with him. Her sisters would be throwing fits and fangirling over him but Joslyn was simply looking at him with her nervous smile, holding the one and half year old boy in her arms who was now calm and starting to doze off on her shoulder.
"I don't mean to be awkward or rude or just annoying but I'm a huge fan," she said quietly, looking directly at him. Those eyes were keeping her focus on him. He was gorgeous on television but even more so in person. Brietta broke that conversation. "Auntie, are we still in trouble?" the six year old asked while tugging on the bottom of Joslyn's jacket. Joslyn looked down at her. "Yes, but we need to wait here for the owner to come around. Be patient Bri," she told the young girl and turned her attention back to Blaise.
