A NPC is a non-playable character.
What is the point of a NPC? That's simple. The point is so you can have a character interact in a thread with you that you don't want to be permanent. For example, if you don't want someone to play your character's mother or father, but you need them for a thread, you can put up a request for someone to play said character in a thread for you.
Shouldn't the character just get made instead since they're being played out? No. Normally, this character is needed for only one or two threads and they're not the main contributor in a thread. They can post a few times and then be written out. Though, if this NPC is being used like a regular character, we'll ask that you just made them instead of using the NPC account.
How can I play a NPC if I don't want to make the account for them? That's easy. We have a NPC account that you can use. When you fill a NPC request, we'll PM the account of one of your characters with the password.
Why can't the password be displayed for everyone? It's simple. Not all guests are pleasant ones. They could easily log-in with the account and start deleting posts made by our members. Trust us, we're trying to protect your work by doing it this way.
How can I request someone to play a NPC character for me? Just reply to this thread with your request, using the form featured below, and wait for someone to answer it. You'll have to be patient, though. Chances are, if you know that you're going to need a character for an upcoming thread, you're better off playing it safe and requesting the NPC early so that you'll know you'll have someone to snag the request in time.
How can I play a NPC for someone? Simply PM this person and let them know you're interested in playing the character for them. They'll probably give you further information from there. If they accept your offer, they'll have to PM an admin so that we can send the password to your account. The reason why we request them to PM one of us that they're accepting your offer is because it was their request that needed to be filled. By them PMing one of us, not only can we send you the password for the NPC account, but we can also delete their request.
How will people know that we've posted certain posts with the NPC account? Just sign your name at the bottom of the post. Where most role-players list their word count, notes, and various other things, you can put that you made the post.
